Terms of Service

Terms governing your access to and use of Parolu.

Last updated: 25 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Parolu, a language-learning application available at parolu.guru and related pages, services, and features (“Parolu”, the “Service”).

Parolu is operated by Pragmatists Sp. z o.o., with its registered address at ul. Wróbla 10/2, 02-736 Warsaw, Poland, VAT / Tax ID: PL5213525290 (“Pragmatists”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, using Parolu, starting a subscription, or accessing any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Parolu.

1. What Parolu is

Parolu is a language-learning application built around contextual practice, active recall, spaced review, AI-assisted explanations, and structured course progression.

The Service may include, among other things:

  • language courses and learning paths;
  • vocabulary and sentence-based exercises;
  • typed recall practice;
  • spaced repetition and review scheduling;
  • AI-generated or AI-assisted explanations, sentences, examples, and feedback;
  • progress tracking;
  • free and paid subscription features.

Parolu is designed to support language learning. It does not guarantee fluency, exam results, certification, employment outcomes, or any specific learning result.

2. Your account

To use parts of Parolu, you may need to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account, unless caused by our fault or by a security issue that we are legally responsible for.

If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us at support@parolu.guru.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts where necessary to protect the Service, other users, or our legal rights, including in cases of abuse, fraud, security risk, or violation of these Terms.

4. Free plan

Parolu may offer a free plan.

The free plan may include limits, such as a limited number of active learning words per language. For example, Parolu may allow a certain number of active learning words for free while continuing to allow reviews of previously unlocked material.

We may change the scope, limits, or features of the free plan from time to time. If we make material changes that negatively affect existing users, we will try to communicate them clearly.

Free access does not guarantee that all current or future features will remain free.

6. Automatic renewal

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.

By starting a subscription, you authorize us and our payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fee and taxes on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

If payment fails, we may retry the payment, ask you to update your payment method, downgrade your account, suspend paid features, or cancel the subscription.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, billing portal, or another cancellation method provided in the Service.

After cancellation, you will normally keep access to paid features until the end of the current paid billing period. After that, your account may return to the free plan or another available plan.

Cancellation stops future billing. It does not automatically refund payments already made, except where required by law or expressly stated in these Terms.

8. Refunds and EU consumer withdrawal rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer withdrawal rights, you may have the right to withdraw from a paid distance contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving a reason.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, contact us at:

Pragmatists Sp. z o.o.
ul. Wróbla 10/2
02-736 Warsaw
Poland
Email: support@parolu.guru

You may use the model withdrawal form at the end of these Terms, but it is not required.

If you request immediate access to paid digital services during the withdrawal period, you acknowledge that, where permitted by law, we may charge a proportionate amount for the part of the Service already provided before you withdraw.

Where applicable law gives you stronger consumer rights, those rights are not limited by these Terms.

Outside mandatory legal rights, subscription fees are generally non-refundable.

9. Course content and learning materials

Parolu provides its own courses, exercises, vocabulary items, sentences, examples, explanations, translations, audio, and other learning materials.

You may use Parolu content only for your personal learning or, where applicable, for permitted educational or team use within the Service.

You may not copy, scrape, export, sell, republish, redistribute, or create competing datasets or products from Parolu content unless we give you written permission.

10. AI-generated and AI-assisted content

Some Parolu features use artificial intelligence, including AI models provided by third-party providers such as OpenAI.

AI may be used to generate or assist with:

  • example sentences;
  • translations;
  • explanations;
  • grammar notes;
  • synonym handling;
  • feedback;
  • answers to follow-up questions;
  • other language-learning support.

AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, unnatural, misleading, or inappropriate in some contexts. Language is nuanced, and AI systems may make mistakes.

You should not rely on Parolu as the sole source of truth for important, professional, legal, medical, immigration, academic, or safety-critical communication.

We may review, improve, regenerate, remove, or change AI-generated content to improve quality, safety, or product performance.

11. No professional advice

Parolu is a language-learning tool. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, immigration, academic, professional, or official translation advice.

Any examples, explanations, or translations in Parolu are for learning purposes only.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Parolu.

You must not:

  • use the Service for unlawful purposes;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to Parolu, its systems, or other users’ accounts;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, copy, or mass-extract Parolu content or data;
  • use automated tools, bots, or scripts without our permission;
  • bypass usage limits, subscription restrictions, or technical protections;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission;
  • use Parolu to generate or distribute harmful, abusive, hateful, illegal, or infringing content;
  • upload or transmit malware or harmful code;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

If you violate these rules, we may suspend or terminate your access.

13. Teams, schools, and organizations

The same Terms apply to individual users, teams, schools, and organizations unless we enter into a separate written agreement.

If you use Parolu on behalf of a school, company, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

An organization may manage access for its users if the relevant team or school features are enabled.

14. Intellectual property

Parolu, including its software, design, interface, course structure, learning materials, algorithms, text, graphics, branding, and other content, is owned by Pragmatists or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Parolu for its intended purpose.

You do not receive ownership of Parolu, its content, software, trademarks, or other intellectual property.

15. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions, corrections, course requests, feature requests, or other feedback, you allow us to use that feedback to improve Parolu without restriction or compensation to you.

This does not affect your rights in your personal data, which are described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Privacy

Your use of Parolu is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data, including account information, learning activity, payment-related information, and data processed in connection with AI features.

17. Third-party services

Parolu may rely on third-party services, including hosting providers, analytics providers, payment processors, authentication providers, email providers, and AI model providers.

Your use of some features may be subject to third-party terms or policies. We are not responsible for third-party services except where required by law.

18. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep Parolu reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical issues, security incidents, third-party outages, or other reasons.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features from time to time. We may also update courses, exercises, AI behavior, review scheduling, limits, pricing, or product design.

If we make material changes to paid features that substantially reduce what you purchased, we will try to give reasonable notice or provide another remedy where required by law.

19. Beta and experimental features

Some Parolu features may be marked or treated as beta, experimental, early access, or “coming soon.”

These features may be incomplete, unstable, changed, limited, or removed. We may use feedback and usage data to improve them.

20. Warranties and disclaimers

Parolu is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, subject to your mandatory consumer rights.

We do not promise that:

  • Parolu will meet all your expectations;
  • Parolu will be uninterrupted or error-free;
  • every sentence, translation, explanation, or AI-generated answer will be correct;
  • you will reach a specific language level;
  • you will remember every word;
  • the Service will be compatible with every device, browser, or operating system.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

21. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pragmatists is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or loss of expected learning outcomes.

For paid subscriptions, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Parolu during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

22. Termination

You may stop using Parolu at any time.

You may request account deletion according to the instructions in the Service or by contacting support@parolu.guru.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you violate these Terms;
  • your payment fails and is not resolved;
  • your use creates legal, security, operational, or reputational risk;
  • we are required to do so by law;
  • we discontinue the Service.

After termination, your right to use Parolu ends. Some sections of these Terms will continue to apply, including sections on intellectual property, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, governing law, and dispute resolution.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are minor, we may update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will try to notify you through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method.

The updated Terms apply from the date stated in them or from the date they are made available, unless a later date is specified.

If you continue using Parolu after updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.

24. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

25. Complaints and disputes

If you have a complaint, contact us first at support@parolu.guru. We will try to resolve the issue fairly and efficiently.

Consumers may have access to out-of-court complaint and redress procedures under applicable law.

We do not undertake in advance to participate in any specific alternative dispute resolution procedure unless required by law or unless we expressly agree in a particular case.

Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be handled by the competent courts under applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence.
